Tax Filing Deadline & Reminders
Mark your calendars, the personal tax filing deadline is Monday, April 15, 2024. As Tax Day draws near, we would like to help ensure you have a smooth filing experience.
As you send your necessary documents to your tax preparer, handle them with care as they contain personally identifiable information. Many preparers are moving to a fully digital experience and offer a document-sharing portal. If offered, use the portal to upload your forms securely and efficiently. Alternatively, remember to encrypt your email for added security if you use email to send documents.
One essential document to include is your 1099s from your Charles Schwab accounts. Charles Schwab typically makes these 1099 forms available in mid-February of every year and they are now available for the 2023 tax year. Accessing your Schwab tax documents is convenient through the Schwab Alliance portal. Once logged into your account, you can navigate to the 1099 Dashboard. If you find no 1099 for a specific account, that particular account may not have reportable information for the tax year and thus no 1099. Should you have any questions about which accounts will receive 1099s, please contact us for clarification.
